Balloon Trousers in Gold Coin Print

The Gold Coin graphic, illustrated by Shaun Hill, was originally conceived to commemorated our flagship store Duck Duck Goose’s first ever tour to Johannesburg in 2023. The graphic features a coin with a depiction of a duck traversing the country from Cape Town to the City of Gold on a springbok, positioned beneath the name of the store and above the name of the city. Even after we’ve returned to Cape Town, the graphic has maintained its significance as a symbol of simultaneous celebration for two of South Africa’s most culturally rich cities. To drive the point home, we took advantage of the illustration’s vibrancy and turned it into an all-over-print graphic.

The Gold Coin graphic is printed all over a 100% nylon peach skin textile, and cut in the pattern of our Balloon trousers, which features four pleats in the front and two darts in the back, making the trousers flare out from the waist. The hems on the legs of the trousers are pleated, tapering the trousers near the ankle. The hems also feature two stud-button fastening options, offering the possibility of enhancing the taper of the trousers. Two side pockets and two back pockets provide utility, while maintaining a sleek and elegant silhouette. The waistband is finished with belt loops, as well as a stud button and YKK fly-closure. The wide cut of the trousers combined with the lightweight textile makes this pair of trousers especially breathable and dynamic. Each pair is handmade in our 28-year-old heritage manufacturing facility in Woodstock, Cape Town.
