Beach Bum T-Shirt

This T-shirt, featuring artwork by Cape Town-based artist Amy-Lee Tak, forms part of Good Good Good’s Heritage Day T-Shirt capsule. Three South African artists, including Amy-Lee, were commissioned to create artworks celebrating elements of what it means to them to be South African. Amy-Lee’s front and back artworks feature the archetypal Cape Town girl, who drinks her favourite local ginger beer and tans on the beach looking out at Table Mountain, accompanied by and African penguin. She sports tattoos of a koeksister (a traditional South African treat) and the South Africanism “Tsek”, a local swear word endearingly circled by a heart. Cape Town is often referred to as the most relaxed city in the country. And who can blame us? Nestled between the coastline and Table Mountain (our own seventh wonder of the world), it would be a disservice not to enjoy our surroundings. Even for penguins, who have made a home out of Boulders Beach! It’s only a matter of time before we see them in pink bikinis, having a soda and a smoke like Amy-Lee’s character.

Each T-shirt is made in our 28-year-old heritage manufacturing facility in Woodstock, Cape Town.
