Strip-Stripe T-Shirt

The Strip-Stripe T-Shirt is made from 100% Southern African-sourced cotton single jersey strips, cut from offcuts and deadstock T-shirts from our factory floor at Together MFG, our 28-year-old heritage manufacturing facility in Woodstock, Cape Town.

This T-shirt is the latest in a series of solutions that we have found to work with offcuts that would otherwise be wasted. While we have always kept and used our offcuts to make kids’ T-shirts and packaging, some excess pieces of fabric have been too small for these uses. Now, we have reworked and repurposed these smaller pieces to make this patchwork tee.

The manufacturing process behind this T-shirt is arduous. With meticulous attention to detail, offcuts are selected by hand and cut down to strips. The strips are sewn together individually to create a large enough piece of fabric from which to cut the panels of the T-shirt. Finally, the T-shirts are cut, made and trimmed in our Heavy T-Shirt silhouette. Each Strip-Stripe T-Shirt is completely unique. While the strips are set to fray, adding character as the tee is worn more, the T-shirt is constructed to last and maintain its shape.
